Tantivy Farm is a 54 acre tract of land in Northern Rockbridge County, Virginia. Originally purchased in 1989 as a peaceful home for our family of two boys, and our horses, ponies, dogs and cats, it has, over the years, gradually grown into a productive land with fruit trees, berries, raised beds for vegetables, flower beds, and now lavender.
We retired from the horse world in 2015 after spending the last 31 years organizing horse shows together and after Brian had been judging dressage and eventing competitions since 1978 and teaching riding since 1966.
Our dream of becoming a lavender farm has become a reality with our first field of 360 lavender plants, of numerous varieties, growing stronger each day. Our plans to plant two more fields in 2017 is taking shape as the cuttings are doing well in our greenhouse and the soil is being prepared for planting in the spring.
We look forward to opening our farm to visitors in the spring of 2017.
